Monsoon Roastery is not just about coffee; it’s a passion project led by the dynamic duo, Andrea and Tim, who pour their hearts into every cup. For the true coffee aficionados, Munir Zaitoun recommends the shot of espresso, perfect for those who want to appreciate the delicacy of freshly roasted coffee without distractions. The baristas, lauded for their friendliness, enhance the experience by sharing their knowledge about the coffee—connecting you to its roots and the craft that goes into roasting each batch.
Monsoon Roastery has also evolved, creating partnerships with other local businesses to showcase their exceptional brews in various locales around Springfield, such as Comfort Bagel in Holyoke. This collaborative spirit not only enriches the local community but also makes their coffee more accessible. As enthusiastic customers like Xanna S. note, the seasonal offerings like the squash spiced latte highlight the innovative approach that Monsoon takes to keep the menu fresh and exciting.

“ Who knew this place was hiding on an off road near Springfield, MA. Imagine walking into a quirky Aunts hidden hideaway, full of fresh flowers, antique furniture and homemade pastries. I really appreciated the vegetarian food options and the cider donut was deliciously light. Almost like a light apple cider angel cake instead of a heavy donut. My friends said the coffee definitely packed a punch. For me, the chai was sweet and savory, with a creaminess from the macadamia milk. ”
“ Nearly 5 years ago I had started a new job in Springfield. On the hunt for a good cup o'joe, my Google search brought me to a curious selection. Monsoon Roastery, located in Gasoline Alley. I thought, that's not far - let's check it out! I headed in and was greeted by the friendliest couple, Andrea and Tim. They were the owners of this incredibly funky, welcoming shop. We got to chatting and I immediately grew so fond of them. They are so passionate about their craft and love all the patrons who walk through their doors. Over the next four years I went to Monsoon as often as I could. But let's talk about the coffee. I admit, I'm a Dunks aficionado, mostly due to proximity (my hometown has 8). But I truly love a rich, carefully crafted coffee drink that's prepared with love. Monsoon has just that. Their coffee is some of the most uniquely delicious and bold-flavored bean juice I have ever had. They clearly communicate where each batch hails from, and a small history lesson is given with a new release. Andrea's fantastic at spreading the joy of the bean in her clever marketing posts, Tim is a master craftsman at his roasting, and all there baristas are just a joy to connect with. I've since switched jobs and now work in Holyoke, so I am not able to visit Monsoon as often as I'd like. However, thanks to their expert collaboration with other local businesses, they feature their coffee at my other favorite locale in Holyoke, Comfort Bagel. So I get to continue enjoying the absolute best local coffee around. If you haven't been, make it a point to get over to Monsoon and try a cup of their amazing coffee. They've now expanded to include the Urban Food Brood, which features a ton of local businesses. It's an experience right in the heart of Springfield you really shouldn't miss. Andrea and Tim, you both are amazing. It's a joy and pleasure to know you and call you friends. Keep rocking on! ”
“ Wonderful space, great food, great coffee, really nice staff. Highly recommended. ”
“ Absolutely one of the best coffee shops in Western Mass. They have the best iced mocha (I get mine with oat milk), not overly sweet, and you can taste the fresh espresso in every sip. And if you’re a true coffeeholic you definitely need to try their shot of expresso, by itself. If you can’t, go for a black coffee and enjoy the delicacy of a freshly roasted coffee Cheers! ”
“ Fridays means bagels .. monsoon is one of the best coffee spots in the area. You can taste the dedication and pride they put into every cup they serve! Right now they have a squash spiced latte and it's delicious!!! It's so awesome watching them grow and expand their little community. ”
“ So incredibly happy to have finally tried this spot! Such a welcoming and fun atmosphere, but also the drinks are out of this world! I don’t even like black coffee, but I tasted my partner’s and was blown away. Really glad to have a spot like this in Springfield that showcases many local events. All of Gasoline Alley has been wonderful to visit. ”
“ This was one of my favorite coffee shops I’ve been to yet! Personality of the place was sooo cute and fun. The people that took my order and made my drink were very sweet and welcoming. The signage was great to “find your way” to the front of the place. I also loved the barrel menus, super easy and no nonsense. The espresso was amazing, and it looked like they used a higher quality whole milk which I appreciated. This place has a magical charm, and I really hope they can get through these tough times! ”
“ I hadn’t been here in a few years but I made sure to visit on my first morning after moving back to Western Mass. It did not disappoint! I normally avoid ordering mochas because they’re often too sweet but another reviewer mentioned how good theirs is so I had to try it. SO good and definitely not too sweet. The Nosh breakfast sandwich was also delicious and I have a feeling this will be a regular Saturday routine for me. So grateful to have an amazing local coffee shop. ”
